Old Jacksonville Highway May Get a Face Lift

FM 2493 is on deck for a proposed change by Texas Department of Transportation and want to hear your opinion at an informal Open House meeting.

TxDot is currently developing plans to improve a section of FM 2439 from FM 346 in Flint to US 69 south of Bullard. The work TxDOT is proposing is in effort to ease congestion and improve driver, cycling and pedestrian safety along the stretch of road. Check out the enhancements provided by their press release:

Widening from a two-lane road to a four-lane divided highway with curb and gutter
Adding a continuous center left-turn lane to provide additional safety for drivers
Incorporating sidewalks and bicycle lanes for pedestrians and cyclists respectively

The public is invited to review the design and ask questions in this come-and-go open house meeting, located in Bullard High School Gymnasium at 1426 Houston St in Bullar

These proposed changes are a result of feedback from a public meeting last spring.
