This Tyler Art Spot Is Perfect for Families
(KNUE-FM) One of the things we hear the most about East Texas is that people wish there were more fun things to do here. My life is so busy, but I enjoy having downtime, but I understand that keeping kids busy with fun activities can become a real struggle. I’m reminded of this whenever I have my nieces or nephews come visit, but recently we found something fun that I didn’t really expect.
On a recent trip, my in-laws and one of my nieces came to visit. We knew that we would be going out to eat because East Texas is full of tremendous restaurants. But we needed something fun to do during the day and my wife stumbled upon Hawaii Fluid Art in Tyler, located within The Village at Cumberland Park.
A Creative Surprise in Tyler
While I visit the gym nearby, I always thought this place was serving snow cones or something like that. But it was actually a really clever art experience that requires very little artistic ability.

How the Art Experience Works
You start by picking out what you want to create. My wife and mother-in-law made charcuterie boards, and my niece Scarlett created a colorful canvas piece.

Why It’s Perfect for Families
The instructors made the process simple to follow. There were so many options, and you could use any color you wanted. The possibilities are truly endless.
The whole experience was under an hour and even though I didn’t feel like making something, it was fun to watch the others getting creative. If you’re looking for something fun to do in Tyler with your family, you should check out Hawaii Fluid Art.
