The weather is turning much more favorable for East Texas outdoor activities!

The heat is taking a break so you can enjoy things like high school football, have a great time with the family at the fair or look for a new addition to the family dynamics by adopting a pet Saturday morning!

High school football is king in East Texas and tomorrow night (Sept. 11), the rivalry continues for Tyler's two high schools. It'll be the 60th time John Tyler and Robert E. Lee will meet for the Rose City Classic at Rose Stadium in Tyler at 7:30 p.m. Not only is each team looking for their first win of the season they're looking to add to their bragging rights! John Tyler holds a lead over Robert E. Lee with a record of 31-27-1.

Remember you can keep up with all things high school football anytime online at ETSN.fm. During your game on Friday night keep up with scores from other teams on the live scoreboard, too!

This is the final week of the Gregg County Fair, so you'll need to get your fix of corn dogs, turkey legs, cotton candy, caramel apples and amusement rides before they're gone for another year!

The Gregg County Fair is open nightly and has plenty of fun and entertainment in store for you and your family. On the final day of the fair, Saturday, Sept. 12, it's Mix 93-1 Family Night where it's buy one get one free admission from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The fourth annual Petapalooza event will be held Saturday in Tyler's Bergfeld Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature many different animals that need forever homes. Dogs to cats, puppies to kittens, to birds and other animals will be on display from many different area shelters and rescue organizations hoping you'll open up your home and adopt a loving pet from them Saturday.

Bring the family out and find a special four legged friend (or winged friend) for your home.

High school football continues on Saturday in Shreveport's Independence Stadium with the Battle On The Border featuring two East Texas teams! Gladewater will be taking on Parkway High School Saturday morning at 11 a.m. and the Longview Lobos wrap up the battle later that night with a game at 8 p.m. against C.E. Byrd high school.

So there's plenty of high school football this weekend and these games too will be covered online at ETSN.fm.
