Infant Ibuprofen Sold At CVS, Walmart, Family Dollar Recalled Nationwide
A popular brand of liquid infant ibuprofen has been voluntarily recalled because it may contain a higher level of ibuprofen than stated on packaging.
Tris Pharma, Inc. issued the voluntary recall three specific lots of its ibuprofen sold under the brands CVS, Walmart and Family Dollar. According to the news release, there exists a "remote possibility" that infants who are more sensitive to the drug may experience adverse effects including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea as well as headache, tinnitus and stomach bleeding
The recalled product was packaged in .5 oz bottles, labeled "Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension" and sold to Walmart, CVS and Family Dollar. See table below for the brand names, lot numbers and expiration dates involved in the recall:
