Of all of the malarkey out there, this one takes the cake!

Here's What's Happening

There are currently people out there who think the Superbowl is rigged, and that the whole thing is predetermined, with some going so far as to think it's happening for political reasons. Let's strip this down to the bare bones now, shall we?

How You'd Know

I'm going to start right here, if there Superbowl could be rigged, the Dallas Cowboys would have been back in it. I'm not saying this to be rude to the Cowboys, but if you're looking to influence America, the best way would be by having "America's Team" in the big game.

The Theories

So the puddin'-headed conspiracy theorists believe the Chiefs were "selected" to play in the big game to help give Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce some type of spotlight to make some kind of political statement. Friends, Taylor Swift does not need a football game to get everyones attention. Also, the Chiefs appeared in multiple Super Bowls long before the Swift/Kelce thing started.

What It Would Take

Let's go even further with the "fixing the Superbowl" idea. If you were to try to "fix" which two teams went to the big game, you'd have to manipulate the players on 32 teams for 17 games (272 games total in the league), and keep everybody quiet about it! It would be an insane proposition.

Fuel To The Fire

Recently these rumors were fueled by some baker who got ahead of themselves and produced snacks with a logo featuring the 49ers and Ravens meeting in the Superbowl. Okay, but it's the 49ers and the Chiefs...the conspiracy theorists explain this as, "Yeah it's fixed, but they found out, so they changed it to the Chiefs". So you have multiple sets of conspiracy theorists out there.

It's Just Poor Sportsmanship

This whole thing is nuts and I can't believe it's even become a thing. People have had a hard time lately accepting defeat, but it happens. Sometimes good guys lose and bad guys win, vice-versa,  and every other combination possible. Just be a good sport and move on.
