Valentine's Day is coming up Wednesday and hundreds of dollars are going to be spent on flowers, candy, cards, jewelry, stuffed animals, and more. According to the National Retail Federation East Texans are anticipated to spend around $180 on each other.

Receiving gifts like those are welcomed by anyone in love, however, there are more practical gifts that aren't so welcomed, like vacuum cleaners, air fryers, a gym membership, or a set of cookware. Those types of gifts may be thoughtful, they just don't fit the spirit of the holiday.

What if you're running low on cash though and still need a Valentine's gift? You can always turn to Craigslist. There are lots of people trying to unload some great things and in some cases, you can even score some things for free.

Yes, there is a section on Craigslist East Texas where people just give stuff away for free. This is brilliant because you just might find something you and your lover could need and get it as a gift and save money by not buying flowers, chocolates, jewelry, and cards.

An unpractical Valentine's Day gift, but hey, times are tough and if it works or you can get it to work then you'll be saving a lot of money.

Trampoline

It could be a gift for the kids. You'll want to check to make sure it's safe though.

Besides a mobile home it could be a great door for her 'she shed'.

Free Furniture

It looks like a hotel is remodeling and giving away all the old stuff. Score a desk, bed frame, chairs, nightstands, headboards, dresser, and possibly a mattress - but I'd personally stay away from the hotel mattress!
