This week's KNUE "Artist Spotlight" is shining on Brantley Gilbert. Born and raised in Georgia, Brantley is a true Southern country-rocker. Brantley's music also shows trials, heartaches, and success.   Brantley has been on the road for the past five years, and has gotten some pretty "die-hard" fans. If you've ever been apart of Brantley's show, you know how dynamic he can be. His compelling lyrics and awesome show has attracted some pretty loyal believers. In fact, Gilbert refers to his "fans," as "friends" who are part of the BG Nation.

Texas music lovers embraced Brantley Gilbert before Nashville really knew who he was. His fan base knew he was quite the songwriter too, and kept asking for new music from Gilbert. This led Gilbert to give Nashville a chance, he signed with Warner /Chappel publishing and signed with an independent label too to work on a debut LP.  Thank goodness he did!

Jason Aldean saw his talent, and recorded one of Gilbert’s songs, “The Best of Me.” The song and earned a spot on his iTunes release WIDE OPEN. Then, in August 2010, Brantley’s song “My Kinda Party,” became a #1 smash for Aldean, as well as the title track to Aldean’s platinum-selling album. The superstar’s latest single, “Dirt Road Anthem,” was also written by Gilbert.

“It’s an honor that someone like Jason would want to record one of my songs,” says Gilbert. “It’s a big step for me as a songwriter and I couldn’t have asked for a better artist to perform the song. After all, he is a Georgia boy!”

That's why Brantley Gilbert is the KNUE "Artist Spotlight" this week.
