(Tyler, Texas) - For a city as big as Tyler is, there sure is nothing to do. There's plenty of places to eat. Cool. There's plenty of places to go shopping. Cool. There is just not a great variety of entertainment options in this city.

Tyler is at, what, 110,000 population give or take. That's a lot of people who may possibly be bored on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon. Instead of staying here to have some fun, they're driving to Dallas or Austin or Houston. Come on Tyler.

Tyler Needs More Entertainment Options

Before I get into my case for more entertainment options, let's give Tyler some credit. Over the last decade, there has been an increase in entertainment options. Times Square Grand Slam is a perfect example of this. It's a lot of fun to go bowling or play laser tag or drop some credits in the arcade.

Tyler will soon be home to a brand new Dave & Busters. Something that seemed impossible just a couple of years ago. A new mini golf course will be built at the location of the old Woodcreek Athletic Club. All of that above is a great start and I commend the City of Tyler for making this happen.

We Need Less Restaurants in Tyler

We see it more and more each day in Tyler, new restaurants opening up. We have an overwhelming selection of places to eat in Tyler. It's too hard of a decision to make if you want to go out for a bite.

Tyler is big enough to support a TopGolf-like facility. Tyler is big enough to support a large go kart track. Tyler is big enough to have a concert venue that can bring in mid-tier to major music acts. With the Oil Palace now under new ownership, maybe that will happen.

More Entertainment Needed in Tyler

To the City of Tyler, please open up and let this town be more entertaining. Tyler has an exhausting amount of places to eat. We need to balance it out and add some entertainment options, both for the family and for the adults alike.

The night life of Tyler needs to open up as well. Midnight, or 1 a.m. on Saturdays, can no longer be the cut off point. Let's make it happen Tyler officials. Tyler's growth depends on it.
