A lot of country singers try to stay in shape when they’re on the road, but not all of them can say they get a workout in with an NBA player. Luke Bryan got the opportunity to try his hand against Chicago Bulls player Jimmy Butler while on a tour stop in West Palm Beach, Fl., and let’s just say it wasn’t pretty.

Butler is apparently a fan of country music and attended Bryan’s Tampa show Sept. 18, so the guys got in touch and planned to play a friendly game of hoops the following day in West Palm Beach. Bryan and his crew looked a little, well, unimpressive compared to Butler and his friends, but they were determined to put up a good showing. Luckily, Butler was gracious, but it didn’t stop him from sinking a few fade-aways and dunking a time or two.

After a couple of slightly embarrassing blunders, Bryan asked the camera man to “edit that,” but of course, fans got to see the good, bad, and the ugly.

“I think physically, I match up,” Bryan joked in the behind-the-scenes video, standing next to Butler. He pointed to his stomach and explained, “beer,” comparing it to Butler’s abs, before Butler interjected “I have a six-pack, too!"

It wasn’t the best display of athletic prowess, but the boys put up a good fight against the pro, including “Black Mike,” one of Bryan’s crewmates, even blocking Butler’s dunk in a particularly memorable moment.

Bryan is currently on a break from the Kick the Dust Up Tour to play some dates as part of his Farm Tour, but will wrap up the extensive run in October alongside Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch.
