Food in East Texas is no laughing matter, we take it seriously around here. There are so many delicious restaurants to choose from, if you’re putting out a mediocre product you probably won’t last long. All the delicious restaurants and amazing cooks around the Tyler, Texas area is just one of the many reasons to love living here, but right now I want to talk about one of my favorite foods and a very popular dish in East Texas, we’re talking about macaroni and cheese. 

The good news is that restaurants in East Texas know that pulling out a blur box that you can get at the grocery store is not going to be acceptable, or at least it won’t make customers want to come back for more. If you are making a good macaroni and cheese it needs to be handmade with real cheese, we can all taste the difference when people use the fake cheese. Although I have had some great mac and cheese that had both real and fake cheese.

Just like when you find decent barbecue, you normally don’t go back, the same is true for macaroni and cheese. There is too much delicious macaroni and cheese being made in East Texas to settle for stuff that isn’t very good. Keep trying other macaroni and cheese until you find the one you love.
