Man Waiting For $1700 Stimulus Check Receives Millions In His Bank Account
It's like something out of a movie. Or a crazy dream if you ask me. An Indiana man went to a local ATM machine to check and see if his government-issued stimulus check had been deposited, but what he received was two blinks away from landing him on HGTV's My Lottery Dream Home.
The story originated WGN9 Chicago. WGN9 says that Charles Calvin, who is a volunteer firefighter in New Chicago, Indiana, and went to make a withdrawal and check his available balance on Friday. After withdrawing $200, his remaining balance left him speechless - and honestly, probably wondering what hidden camera game show he was on.
Charles' account said his remaining balance was $8.2 million.
I'M SORRY?? Imagine that kind of money sitting in your bank account for an entire weekend.
Charles spoke with his bank on Monday, and they said that they didn't see that balance in his account anymore. However, he did have his $1700 stimulus payment.
“It kind of sucks,” Charles told WGN9. “You go from being a millionaire one second then back to being broke again. But hey, once you're poor you don't have anywhere else to go but up.”
There's still no clear indication of where the money came from. Be on the lookout for your stimulus payment if you expect to receive one!
