While sports betting might not be legal in the state of Texas quite yet, when you think about sports betting and the state of Texas most people think of one person, Mattress Mack. Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is known for making gigantic bets on Texas teams his most recent bets include winning big with the Houston Astros, but he also lost when betting on TCU in the National Championship. But that loss didn’t discourage Matress Mack because he has another big bet that he placed on the Dallas Cowboys.

We all know that the Cowboys knocked off Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, now they have a matchup with the San Francisco 49ers this weekend. But to win the bet Mattress Mack needs the Cowboys to win more than just this upcoming game.

What Bet Did Mattress Mack Make for the Cowboys in the NFL Playoffs?

Mattress Mack wagered $200k on the Dallas Cowboys to win the NFC Championship, he placed the bet prior to the Cowboys beating the Bucs so he got great odds at +650. Meaning that if Cowboys do win the NFC Championship that would mean that Mattress Mack would win $1,450,000!

Let’s Go Cowboys!

Beyond just cheering on Mattress Mack, it would be great to see Dak and the Boys shut down the 49ers this weekend and if the Giants win too, the Cowboys could host the NFC Championship game. This is what is so fun about the NFL playoffs, you never know what is going to happen. But let’s hope things go well for the Cowboys and Mattress Mack!

LOOK: The story behind every NFL team name

Stacker delved into the story behind every NFL football team name. Overall team records, also included, are reflective of NFL regular-season games. There are some football teams with well-known nicknames—the Jets, for instance, are often referred to as Gang Green—but we also divulge how some teams’ official names are sparingly used (the Jets’ neighbors, the Giants, are actually known as the New York Football Giants). Sometimes a team name can tell you a lot about local history: The Vikings of Minnesota draw upon the area’s strong ties to Scandinavia, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are dripping in local legend related to Florida’s pirate past.

Let’s kick off the countdown with the folks who earned their nickname by buying boxes of used team jerseys.
