‘Southern Hospitality’ Debuts Next Weekend At Tyler Civic Theatre
Don't get me wrong. I love movies. With a passion. Yet, there's something unique about attending a live performance at the Tyler Civic Theatre. Perhaps that's the thing: the "live" element. You feel the energy of the actors as they play out their roles right there before you, in real time. Plus, I love the intimacy of this place. It's "theatre-in-the-round." That means, audience members are all around the stage. This just adds to a sense of presence and "being there."
On top of that, this show just looks like so much fun. It's all about the Futrelle Sisters - Frankie, Twink, Honey Raye and Rhonda Lynn and their various trials as they seek to save their "beloved hometown--Fayro, Texas." Adventures ensue.
However, this isn't the first time the Sisters have had an adventure or two. This show is the third play in a trilogy, following Dearly Beloved and Christmas Belles. But that doesn't mean you won't enjoy this show all on its own.
