(KNUE-FM) While I love watching all different types of crime shows with my wife, there is a lot that I have no idea about when it comes to actual legal charges in Texas. My wife and I love to watch stories of unbelievable crimes, with a majority of them ending in a court case where someone is convicted of a felony.
But what exactly is a felony crime, I couldn’t get into specifics because I’m not a lawyer and have never been convicted of a crime like this. Which is why I wanted to investigate the subject and then found that there are actually five different types of felony crimes in the state of Texas.
How Felony Sentencing Works in Texas
Every trial and court case is going to be different depending on how severe the charge is, which will also affect the length of the sentence that is handed down by the judge overseeing the case. I’m pretty sure no one wakes up one day saying they want to commit a felony and do time in jail but if you commit a crime in Texas there will be harsh consequences for your actions.
