Texas Forestry Museum Celebrates Smokey Bear’s 75th Birthday

Once a staple of Saturday morning cartoon commercials, Smokey Bear has spent the better part of a century informing kids about wildfire prevention. Once famously stating that "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires" the message changed a bit in 2001 to  "Only You Can Prevent Wildfires". His 75th birthday celebration at the Texas Forestry Museum is this Saturday November 9th from 10am - 1pm. They are located at 1905 Atkinson Dr.

Come celebrate Smokey Bear’s 75th birthday with your family at the Texas Forestry Museum. The Texas Forestry Museum in cooperation with the Texas A&M Forest Service and the United States Forest Service will host Smokey’s birthday party on Saturday, November 9th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be games, refreshments, a bouncy house, and more! Also the guest of honor, Smokey Bear, will make an appearance. This event is free and open to the public. Photos will be taken at the event for promotional materials.
