It's hilarious to me how people from East Texas, myself included, love to point out that we are not from Dallas or the Metroplex area. We are from East Texas, it's a completely different vibe. And sure there are some people that love the big city, and love to be vocal about that on social media. But I love living here in East Texas. So, I thought it would be fun to come up with a list of things that people from Dallas don't understand about East Texas.

Traffic Is a Completely Different Experience

Of course, I plan on talking about the difference in traffic and commute times. While we can all agree that being on the loop in Tyler or Longview can be annoying at times, especially at 5:00 p.m. when everyone is trying to get home after work. But it's nothing like having to navigate getting over 5 lanes of traffic on the interstate in Dallas.

Both locations can deal with serious traffic issues but in East Texas it's more common to be stuck behind a tractor instead of 3 accidents that are slowing everyone down in the Metroplex.
