The COVID-19 pandemic has every state and city taking extreme measures to combat the virus, but one Texas city is making one rule that comes with major consequences if not followed.

According to ABC 7 Chicago, the city of Laredo is making all their citizens who are older than the age of 5 to wear some type of covering over their when going out in public.

The news comes after the U.S. Surgeon General changed his tune about wearing surgical masks as he learned that there is a good chance of asymptomatic spread of the virus.

Citizens who are not in compliance with this order will be charged with a misdemeanor which could be punishable with a fine up to $1,000.
