Every Friday night, a few of my girlfriends have a Girls Nite Out Meetup on Zoom. We talk about how our week went, the good, the bad, and the ugly. We talk about the latest celebrity gossip and how we are dealing with stresses on the job, stresses at home, and stresses with dealing with stress.

The question came up about what are each of us doing for self-care and wellness. One of my friends said that she had a massage this week and I was instantly envious. She said that a friend of hers had encouraged her to get a massage so she was able to locate a masseuse that was reasonably priced. My friend told me, "My body was hurting in places I didn't even realize."

I told her that massages are always like that! It's as though your body hits you with the "BOOM, YOUR LEFT LEG HAS A HIDDEN PAIN SPOT, BUDDY! BLADOW!"

I told my friends during our Zoom call that I was thinking about becoming a certified yoga instructor so that I could start my own "TRAP YOGA" class. In my trap yoga class, we will have a light warm-up session of some twerking, followed by a few downward dog poses. (Sorry, the only yoga pose I remember is the one called "the downward dog". My Trap Yoga class would be a lot of fun, don't you think?

Here are some things I was thinking about doing to take care of my own wellness during these COVID times:

  • Zumba
  • Yoga
  • Beauty Services
  • Belly Dancing
  • Trap Yoga
  • Socca
  • Healthy recipes
  • Haircare
  • Exercise
