It's always fun to go and experience new and exciting places - whether it's the next town over, or on the other side of the world.

Regardless of where you decide to explore it is always important to do these activities to get a full feel for the culture at hand.

Eat at a local hole-in-the-wall place

Sure you can go eat at the place “everyone” eats at, or the same big name chain restaurants that are in your hometown, but you will experience the authentic taste of the city at small mom & pop place. Most of the time, the food in these types of places will knock your socks off.

See the WHOLE city

Usually, there is some landmark or area that you just “absolutely have to see”, when you go to a different city. While seeing these landmarks is cool, you don’t get the full experience. Most of the time the locals are keeping a really cool park, or some really awesome neighborhood in their back pockets so the tourists don’t ruin them. You might see some rough areas but remember the night is always darkest just before the dawn (bonus points to you if you caught the movie reference there).

Do touristy things

Remember that in the end you are a tourist, so it is also important to go see and do the things that “everyone has to do” because that’s the way it goes. Everybody wouldn’t do something if it wasn’t completely awesome!

Really the most important thing is that you go out and explore new places! You never know what cool things you can find!
