Cuteness Overload: Inside El Paso Zoo’s First-Ever Giraffe Baby Shower, Kisses Included
Ok so spoiler alert, the name of El Paso’s first newborn giraffe was not revealed this past weekend BUT nonetheless, a celebration was held to celebrate GiGi and Juma’s little baby boy!
Although Mom and baby were not out for display that didn’t stop the El Paso Zoo staff from snapping an adorable photo of both giraffes as they shared a sweet kiss. (Momma’s boy FOR SURE!)
Back in April, Gigi gave birth to a 6-foot, 110-pound male giraffe making it the first time a giraffe has been born at the El Paso Zoo in the city’s history.
So, the baby shower was a first of its kind celebration. Guests who joined the celebration were able to enjoy baby shower-style games, activities for the kids, and raffle prizes.
Guests also had the opportunity to learn more about Giraffes thanks to the El Paso Zoo staff.
The celebration was of course an all ages event, but for those adults over the age of 21, DeadBeach Brewery provided some refreshing beer!
Guests were able to enjoy a special beer brewed specifically for this first of its kind celebration: ConCerveza Beer
If you missed out on the celebration like I did *cries in Spanish* don’t worry because the El Paso Zoo shared a few photos from the celebration!
Now, if only the Zoo could share the name of this precious little giraffe so Mike can stop trying to make “Pifas” happen!
And as for when mom and baby will be out on exhibit?
"Giraffe update: Mom and baby are doing great! They’re still not on exhibit but you might catch a glimpse of dad, Juma, on exhibit. Keep posted here for any updates regarding our giraffe family!"
