So, wow, where to begin with all the news that came out of Disney's D23 Expo this weekend? There was something for every Star Wars, Marvel and Disney fan out there. Let's go through a run down of the announcements.

Star Wars

We got our first look at The Mandalorian premiering November 12 on Disney's new streaming service Disney+. This show looks amazing. Is it a Boba Fett origin story? Possibly.

A big rumor for a long time has been a a solo movie for Obi Wan Kenobi staring Ewan McGregor, who played Obi Wan in Episode I, II and III. Well, to huge cheers, Ewan McGregor came onstage and said he will be returning to the role of Obi Wan Kenobi in what seems to be a series on Disney+.

Finally, there was a new look at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The trailer released online this morning. Watching this trailer, I had goosebumps throughout. Looking back on the past 40 years, the line of star destroyers, an evil Rey. Holy crap!

Marvel

We got a great reveal of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe during Comic Con in July. With D23, however, we got some additional details on some of the upcoming projects.

We got a look at The Eternals as the cast came on stage under renderings of their characters. It was also announced that Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington will join the movie as Dane Whitman. I personally do not know anything about The Eternals as it's a comic I have never read. I may have to do a cliff notes reading before heading to the theater. This, like Guardians of the Galaxy, could be a sleeper hit.

At Comic Con, we didn't hear any news on a Black Panther sequel. At D23, we did. Blank Panther 2 will release on May 6, 2022, once again written and directed by Ryan Coogler.

In video we may never see, fans at D23 got to view exclusive footage and a trailer for Black Widow coming May of 2020. A poster for the movie was revealed, too.

Three new Marvel shows were announced for Disney+, Moon Knight, She Hulk and Ms. Marvel. It is said that these will be the introductions leading to the characters appearing in movies down the road. Very cool.

Disney

Disney itself announced that Disney+ will launch November 12. A new movie available at launch will be a live action remake of Lady and the Tramp. Looks interesting.

Also, two new original animated films will be coming to theaters, Soul June 19, 2020 and Raya the Lost Dragon November 25, 2020.

There was no further word on the Sony dispute, unfortunately. I believe a deal will get done in due time, though. Disney knows they need Spiderman in the MCU and Sony knows they need Disney to keep Spiderman successful. Without each other, Spiderman and the MCU will lose some steam.

Love 'em or hate 'em, there is no doubt that Disney is the king and queen of entertainment right now.
