(East Texas)  While it is something we desperately need, too much of it can be a bad thing. Rain. Meteorologists predict more rain is on the way for East Texas through Friday.

Last week, Tyler received close to 2" of rain. Looking at my rain gauge hanging on my fence, I received a little over 3" at my house. My yard loved all the rain, and it showed. I had to mow it sooner than normal, and with another possible two inches on the way, I didn't want to risk having to mow a true jungle when it finally ended this week.

KLTV 7 Meteorologists have been monitoring the models and forecasts, which are showing that East Texas could receive up to 3" of rain by the time the rain event ends early Wednesday morning, with some areas receiving up to 5" of rain.

In flooded conditions, turn around, don't drown

If you happen to be driving in all the rain and encounter a flooded roadway, you should not drive through the floodwaters. You do not know the depth of the water, the debris that might be under the water line, and if a bridge or culvert has been washed out. Do not drive around barricades that are in place; simply turn around, don't drown.
