(KNUE-FM) We know that crime happens everywhere including here in our home state of Texas.

But over the last couple of years, we have heard more about this new crime known as ‘jugging’.

And we know that money is tight for lots of Texans which unfortunately is causing an increase in this new type of crime, I bring this up because the last thing I want is for you to become the next victim.

What is ‘Jugging’?

Bank Jugging is when a criminal watches you enter a bank, then leave the bank with an envelope (they are hoping that envelope is full of cash).

The criminal will watch where you put the money then follow you to your next destination and when you leave the vehicle, they will smash your window and take your money in a matter of seconds.

And it’s happening more and more.

Recent Case of Jugging in Texas

According to KHOU, there was a woman that became a victim of ‘jugging’ just before 1:00 p.m. in an apartment complex after visiting a bank.

The woman was followed to her apartment when the criminal jumped out of his vehicle and approached the woman's vehicle, opened her passenger door, and wrestled her purse away from her.

The crime was caught on video and will make you angry to see that a grown man can treat a woman like that.

It’s not acceptable, and I hope this man must face the consequences to his actions.

Stay Aware of Your Surroundings

It’s more important than ever before to stay aware of your surroundings.

If you feel uncomfortable, remember you can always drive yourself to a police station.

Protect and take care of yourself and your family first, that should always be your priority.
