Michael Myers, the iconic horror movie icon from the 1978 classic Halloween is having a birthday.

On Halloween night in 1963, a young 6-year-old Michael Myers grabbed a knife a murdered his sister Judith in her bedroom.

Michael was institutionalized for 15 years getting treatment by his Dr. Samuel Loomis until he broke out the night before Halloween he broke out and made his way back to Haddonfield, Illinois and that night would change the landscape of the famous holiday.

What makes this movie special to me is because this was one of the first horror movies that actually scared me even today!

Most horror movies the killer would usually talk, but Michael was different in so many ways because he never spoke he just stalked and made his move.

Nobody knew why he killed his sister Judith and why he kept stalking Laurie Strode after all these years and honestly that William Shatner mask he wears is very creepy and the musical score is more iconic today.

Released on October 25th, 1978 with a budget of $300,000, the film went on to gross $47 million at the US box office which makes it one of the most successful independent movies today.

You can check out Halloween at the Liberty Theater Thursday October 31, and relive the horror of that fateful night back in 1978.

Cheers to Michael Myers!
