Southside Park In Tyler Is Going To Be Better Than Ever
East Texas has many beautiful city parks and these are truly a gift to our communities. Many of us have happy memories of spending hours there among the trees, pathways, and play areas. Even now when I need to de-frazzle my brain, I like to spend time in our parks just to clear my head and maybe jot some thoughts in my journal. So, I'm pretty excited that many of our parks are getting revitalized and making them even more of a calming and fun destination for families and calm-seeking people like me.
Southside Park in Tyler is about to undergo some beautiful changes. In fact, there will be a groundbreaking on Tuesday, June 25 at 2 p.m. The City of Tyler's Facebook page states, "after many years of fundraising and planning, the City of Tyler will commence construction of a playground designed to be accessible for kids with mobility challenges. This new playground will be the only one of its kind in Tyler and the east Texas region."
I love that. In addition to getting a face-lift, Southside Park will become much more inclusive and fun for all of our kids--which are what parks should be all about. Well done, City of Tyler.
From City of Tyler: The Southside Park playground construction and this event are made possible thanks to Tyler Parks and Recreation, Keep Tyler Beautiful, the Half Cent board and Ambucs.
