Longview, TX High School Senior Asks For Our Help with Her Younger Autistic Friend
We all like to fantasize that when we were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders, shout out Baz. The truth is the first two are highly subjective. But that third fantasy of ours may not be all that fantastical. We're just not always looking in the right direction, even right here in Longview, TX.
While I haven't seen any stats on it, I've got to to believe we've got the same percentage of great kids today as we did in 1999, 1979, and probably 1959. And that percentage is very high. Shoutout, kids.
Case in point Spring Hill High School senior, Alexis Grubb. As Alexis prepares to graduate high school, she wants to make sure that a younger friend she made this school year is taken care, namely his love of art.
His mom works days and nights to make ends meet for his family and I’ve asked him recently if he has done any painting and told me that they can’t afford it. I know that painting to Louis is special because it’s a way for him to express his emotions when nobody else understands him
Grubb posted in the All Things Longview Facebook group that her friend Louis is autistic and that the two of them have forged a special friendship. Before she graduates, though, she wants to ensure that he is able to nurture his love of painting and is hoping that all of us can help her out with that. Read her post below:
I know this is a long shot, but I am a senior at Spring Hill High School. During this school year I met this awesome freshman named Louis. Louis is smart, loving, and kind.
I myself have an autistic brother and have been able to connect with Louis because he is also autistic. Throughout this school year of knowing him I have learned that he loves to paint. Pictured below is a painting I went and bought from him!

I want to go buy him some paints, brushes, and canvases for him to have this summer and that he can sell. If anyone would love to help pitch in anything to help me my Venmo is Alexis-Grubb-6 Cashapp- Alexisgrubb02, anything helps!
Let's see if we can help Alexis get her friend a summer supply of art supplies. Again her Venmo: Alexis-Grubb-6 and her Cashapp: Alexisgrubb02. And if you're wondering we've got 'till Saturday (April 16th) to help out, she plans to do the shopping that morning.
