Washington Redskins have a Huge Stake in the Red River Rivalry

This is probably the best weekend to be a football fan in Texas. High school football Friday, Texas - OU Saturday, Dallas Cowboys versus the Houston Texans Sunday.

Saturday, #19 Texas takes on #7 Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl on the grounds of the State Fair of Texas. No matter if the teams are nationally ranked or having off years, this game is always great. Kickoff is 11 A.M. on Fox. ESPN will be on site with their College Gameday show to kick off the day. Their broadcast begins at 8 A.M. close to the ferris wheel at the fair.

The Washington Redskins have five players that know the Texas - OU rivalry very well. Quarterback Colt McCoy is the lone Longhorn. Palestine native Adrian Peterson, Longview native Trent Williams, Samaje Perine and Tress Way are all Sooners. While they are excellent teammates professionally, this weekend could be interesting for them with how deep this college rivalry goes.

The Longhorns are looking good in their second year under Tom Herman as coach. The Sooners look good as always. I'm a Longhorn fan so I'm gonna have to say "Hook 'Em Horns!" and Texas takes the win. O who?
