A Texas Man is Killed in an Alligator Attack
It happened Friday in Southeast Texas when a man and a woman were swimming in the dark in the bayou. Would a gator warning sign keep you from swimming at that spot?
KHOU says the man lost an arm from the elbow down and had puncture wounds in his chest because of the attack. Apparently the gator pulled him under twice, and the woman was able to get to the shore and call for help, but it was too late.
The man's body was recovered from the bayou about four hours later.
A gator was seen in that spot in Orange County a few months ago, and a warning sign was posted telling swimmers to stay out. Would you swim anyway?
Game wardens say this kind of attack is extremely rare, but possible and that's why the signs went up. The alligator was about 11 feet long.
