Experts Recommend This Healthy Fruit for Texas Kids
(KNUE-FM) Let’s be honest, most of us here in Texas would love to live a healthier lifestyle. We want to get some exercise every day, we want to eat healthily, but it can be challenging. Life gets busy, healthier foods can cost more, and sometimes laziness just takes over.
But even if we want to have a cheat meal or cheat day, we still want to make sure we pass on good behaviors to kids. But according to NBCDFW, there is a dietitian that says there is one fruit that you should be giving to your kids more than all the others.
Kids Can Be Picky Around Fruit
Before we start talking about what the best fruit to eat is for kids, let’s just start by saying that getting kids to eat any fruit is already a win. Most kids are always requesting extremely sugary snacks or drinks, so if they are grabbing fruit as a snack, you have already won.
Secondly, we all know kids can be picky, so make sure your house has fruits that you know kids will eat. The last thing you want is to spend money on fresh fruit and then have to throw it away because no one ate it before it went bad.

Best Fruit is Not What You Expect
Blueberries are filled with fiber, which is great, oranges have vitamin C, but there is one winner above the rest. Registered dietitian Natalie Rizzo says bananas are the best.

Why Dietitians Recommend Bananas for Kids
Bananas are a great source of potassium which supports heart health; they're loaded with vitamin B6 and contain prebiotic fiber which is great for gut health.
Next time you visit the grocery store it might be a good idea to grab some bananas, for the kids and yourself too.
