The East Texas arts community continues to grow and I for one, LOVE it. Art, in all of its various forms, does so much for our communities--but not only in a physical way. It also has an impact on the overall vibe of our cities and creates more of a draw for tourism which helps our overall economies and...you get the picture I'm painting. ;)

If you've not yet had the chance to experience one of the Downtown Tyler Art Walks, this is a great opportunity. Hosted by the Heart of Tyler, Tyler's only non-profit committed to revitalizing Tyler's downtown infrastructure and business communities, the 'Liberal Art & Music Fest' is scheduled for June 8 from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Head to the Spring Avenue Plaza at 115 N. Spring Avenue directly behind the Smith County Courthouse in beautiful downtown Tyler.

In addition to checking out the creations of local artists--including painters, jewelry-makers, and other artisans--enjoy local music from area bands/singers/songwriters. Those beloved food trucks we're seeing more and more of in East Texas everyday will be there, too.

Interested in being a vendor or a volunteer? Get connected with them as soon as possible, because they're looking for you!
