Tyler's S. Broadway and Shiloh/Rice Rd. intersection is going to be slower than usual Thursday morning.

It's a pretty busy intersection within the City Of Tyler and when this traffic light is blinking red in all directions it's mayhem! It's been happening more frequently lately, so the City Of Tyler Traffic Department will be on site to replace the signal box for these lights. According to a city press release, the replacement originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 7th will now take place Thursday, May 9th from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and is dependent upon weather conditions.

During this replacement time, there will be a 30 minute window when the traffic lights will be turned off. Tyler Police will be directing traffic while the lights are off. Drivers in the area should anticipate delays and should reduce speed and use caution near the intersection to ensure safety for themselves, other drivers along with police and city workers that will be on site.

The replacement of the signal box at S. Broadway and Shiloh/Rice Rd. in Tyler is only temporary, but necessary. This intersection is already congested due to the closure and construction that is happening on Old Bullard Rd. Drivers may want to seek alternate routes to cut down on wait times and traffic.
