This Saturday (Oct. 12) live music returns to the the brick streets of Downtown Tyler. Come out for family fun, beverages, food and more at the 26th Annual Festival on the Square.

This year The Departed anchor a superb lineup of live acts. And it should be noted this will be one of Seth James' final performances with Cody Canada, and the Departed. Read more on that here. The Departed took home multiple awards at this year's Lone Star Music Awards show. Including Album (Adventus) and Musician of the Year (Cody Canada).

And of course Canada spent over a decade fronting one of Red Dirt's most popular bands, ever -- Cross Canadian Ragweed.

Direct support for the Red Dirt powerhouse band will be Sons of Fathers -- who, oh by the way, just made their Grand Ol' Opry debut last month. The band features hometown boy Mark Paul Cauthen, and have been on the short list of bands I really, really, really wanna see for a while. I'll be crossing them off that list Saturday.

And kicking of festivities will be Fred Andrews and HoneyBrowne, and Rich O'Toole. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the music continues till midnight. Click here to buy your tickets, and save $5 -- or get them at the gate day of the show.

Festival on the Square is a production of the City of Tyler Main Street Department and Heart of Tyler, Inc. All net proceeds of the event go to Downtown Tyler revitalization.
