Fire Destroys ‘Big Tex’ Statue at Texas State Fair
Big Tex, the official mascot of the Texas State Fair in Dallas, has been completely destroyed by fire.
It is completely unclear what caused the fire, although one TV station in Dallas attributed it to an electrical malfunction.
The fire was handled under control and is out. The fairgrounds are still open.
Only a skeletal frame of Big Tex, which first appeared at the State Fair in 1952, now remains. And this happens the year the fair was celebrating his 60th birthday.
