Texas Sting Operation Targets Online Child Predators
For years, most Texans have heard of child predator operations taking place to reduce or eliminate that type of behavior. It’s been on television shows, it’s taken place by local police, and there are now people on social media that do this because they hate child predators so much. You would think people would stop doing this, but yet another operation took place recently in the Lone Star State resulting in 10 arrests.
What Is Operation Spring Cleaning?
According to NBCDFW, Fort Worth police say that 10 men were arrested during a three-day operation targeting people accused of attempting to prey on children online. The operation took place from April 1 to April 3 and was called “Operation Spring Cleaning.”

How the Fort Worth Sting Operation Worked
Fort Worth police investigators used online platforms to identify and track individuals who were allegedly seeking sexual contact with children under 17. What some citizens might not know is there are dedicated officers who focus full-time on monitoring these potential threats.

What Authorities Want Parents to Know
Authorities want the public to know that predators will take the time to build trust before attempting to meet in person. Often, the predators will suggest meeting at a park or public place to seem less dangerous and more normal.
Information on the 10 men arrested has not been released yet. The Fort Worth police department did post a video of the operation on their Facebook page which has captured a lot of attention.
Hopefully, this will show everyone that there are very serious consequences for committing this type of crime in Texas, and that officers are working daily to eliminate this behavior here in the Lone Star State.
