Have you ever done something only to almost immediately think, "Is that legal in Texas?"

I feel like I find myself asking that occasionally, as I'm sure many others do too. For example, I often question whether people use the middle left turn lanes correctly; many different driving 'techniques' I see people pull; tractors on major roads; picking flowers on the side of the road; and even leaving dog waste around.

There are so many things to be questioned that feel incorrect, but a times, those things we feel are wrong are quite legal.

Why do we feel like things are wrong when they're not?

In part, I think this could stem from different cities, counties, and states having different laws and regulations. The city of Tyler will not follow the same rules as Ausin, whereas Texas will not follow the same rules as California.

So I can see questions of legality being extra confusing for travelers and new Texans especially. But don't worry, some things about Texas confuse us all.

On the other side of things, I feel like it has to do with each person's own morals. For example, some things regarding weapons may seem completely illegal to do for those against them or who do not own them. BUT, for responsible weapon owners, they'll know that some of those things that seem, 'wrong,' are legal if handled correctly.

Here are some things many may think are illegal, but aren't

I remember growing up and being told that some of these things I'm about to list are illegal, and I believed it. I was curious about the things I'd been told were illegal, and wondering if they actually were. So, I asked ChatGPT for some quick clarification.

It turned out that many things that have always felt illegal aren't. Of course, there are specific regulations, but otherwise, under state law, these 5 things are legal:
