There is no doubt about it, we have some amazing law enforcement officers here in East Texas that truly go above and beyond the call of duty to take care of our friends and neighbors. Recently the Longview, Texas Police Department pushed forward with another year of their Blue Santa program.  

This is a non-profit organization that is sponsored through the police department to make sure kids in the Longview area have gifts around Christmas. This program has been going on for over 20 years now and as you will see with the pictures below I’m not sure if the kids or the officers have more fun picking out gifts.

Lots of Organizations Helped Out With The Blue Santa Program in Longview 

Blue Santa this year was able to help 150 children have a better holiday season but it took lots of help to make this happen. Helping out this year was Walmart, Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center, Gregg County Constable Precinct 1, Longview Police Explorers, Longview Citizen's on Patrol, Longview Fire Marshal’s Office, Longview Fire Department, Gregg County Sherriff's Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Hallsville Police Department, Chuck Boyce with the Tyler Police Department, and several volunteers. 

Blue Santa in Longview Leaves a Huge Impact 

Just think about the stress that some parents are feeling as they didn’t have money for gifts this year, this Blue Santa program is amazing. It gives these children a positive experience with local law enforcement. This is incredible, to everyone who helps put on Blue Santa in Longview, thank you! Tyler PD Host Blue Santa Event

Officers with the Tyler PD along with Smith County Sheriff's and Smith County Animal Control took kids Christmas shopping as part of their Blue Santa event.
