We all need time to decompress and disconnect from our technology-driven world. Life is just too short not to enjoy it. We need time for ourselves to recharge our batteries, clear our minds, and maybe gain a new perspective on things.

Texas is full of wonderful sights and experiences thanks to its vast beauty.

If you feel you deserve time for yourself, time to get away, recharge, and relax - there's a perfect place that gets you away from technology and under the wide open Texas sky so that you can see nature as you've never seen it before.

The Dome in Terlingua near Big Bend is calling

In West Texas, near Big Bend National Park, is a place that will have you soaking up so much nature that you won't want to pick up a device again. It is completely off the grid and powered by nothing but sunlight!

This quaint earthen adobe structure was featured on HGTV's 'Mighty Tiny Houses' and while it has plenty of space for you, your partner, and possibly one other guest to sleep and whip up a meal, there are other things that you'll have to adjust too.

There is not a flushing toilet, but a composting outhouse nearby, and no running water for a shower, but the host does provide a solar bag shower and you'll need to bring in some bottled water.

If you're accustomed to air conditioning, well, you're in luck - maybe. The Dome is equipped with a small window unit that can operate during solar hours, but the host can't guarantee it will work because it's all dependent upon the sun.

So you might have to stick with an oscillating fan.

There will be those that ABSOLUTELY have to stay connected

There is wi-fi access on site along with solar power that can charge your device. The solar power converter will take care of your phone, laptop, and lights, but not your hairdryer! So, you can stay connected if you absolutely must.

The Dome offers unique glimpses into the night sky.

This place offers a truly life-changing experience with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets and at night it provides an unmatched view of the cosmos because where the Dome is located, it's under a dark sky ordinance. That means you'll get a view of the cosmos as you've never seen it before.

Activities close to the Dome.

Big Bend National Park is just a 25-minute drive away along with the Terlingua ghost town.

If you're looking for a great escape, one where you can unplug from the digital world reconnect with nature, and check out the Milky Way like you've never seen it before, you might consider this West Texas destination for sure.

This Fredericksburg, TX Airbnb Is Like Something 'Straight Out Of A Horror Movie'

We all may remember the house from Nightmare on Elm Street or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. When you think of these, you don't exactly get all warm and fuzzy inside. Instead, it's more like a lump in your throat or stomach-sinking feeling. Unfortunately, for some travelers, this is the feeling they're getting when they pull up to this home in Fredericksburg, Texas. By the looks of the place from the outside, I get it.
