Monday morning (December 19), members of the Longview Police SWAT Team braved the cold to dress as superheroes and rappel down the wall of Good Shepherd Medical Center to surprise the kids being treated at the hospital.

Officers dressed as Captain America, Spider-Man, Superman and Batman started at the roof and made a stop at the window of each floor to wave at the kids.

Once they reached the bottom, they met with the kids and delivered gifts.

"Our SWAT Team members train diligently to use their skills whenever duty calls. Operation Christmas Cheer lets them demonstrate their abilities to the community and bring joy to children spending the holidays at Good Shepherd Medical Center,” Longview Police Department public information officer Kristie Brian told KLTV. “Our officers love surprising the children in the windows and then visiting them in their unit to deliver gifts."

The Gregg County Sheriff's Department got video of the event and posted it to their Facebook page. Watch it below.
