If I had any idea that city managers in Texas were making this much money, I would have put more effort into pursuing that as a career. You might not realize but city managers are often the highest paid city employee in Texas towns. 

Recently I saw a friend online talking about how the City of Abilene is hiring a new City Manager and the salary range goes up to $305k!

When you’re a City Manager, that means your salary is public information, these are things that anyone can look up. And while City Managers are making lots of money, a majority of them are not making 300k.

They enforce the decisions made by the city council, supervise certain departments for the city, and often have to be the point person between city government and residents. 

There is much more to the job than I will ever know. It’s not easy, but as you can tell City Managers in Texas are paid well for the stress they deal with.
