While I love to brag about the great state of Texas and how there is so much to do and see in our beautiful state, there is something happening in Texas that we don’t exactly love that would be germs and sickness. Obviously, illness can hit any part of the country but right now Texas is getting hit hard according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

You might not know but the CDC actually has a Influenza Summary Update that updates regularly which monitors visits for respiratory illness that includes fever plus a cough or sore throat. But as you will notice on their map it’s not just the state of Texas it’s all of the states around us as well. New Mexico and Arkansas are considered very high just like Texas. Both Oklahoma and Louisiana aren’t far behind, as they are currently being considered high.

What To Do If You Get the Flu

Let’s hope that you don’t get sick anytime soon, but as we’ve learned there are lots of people that are sick around us. So, do what you can to stay healthy, beyond washing your hands a lot to get rid of germs. But also remember to get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids, and take medication as needed to reduce any fever you’re dealing with.

Try Not to Spread Germs Either

While we all have busy lives and work hard, do your best to make sure you’re not infecting others if you start feeling sick. Which means try not to bring your sickness into work. It’s something I have to remind myself to do, but the last thing you want to do is get your coworkers sick.

Hopefully this passes quickly, and Texas can get out of the very high activity level when it comes to the CDC Influenza Map soon.
