One of my hobbies is picture taking and stargazing.  Ever since I was a kid I would go outside and look at the moon, stars and admire their beauty.  As I got older I got more serious into taking photos so I purchased a Canon Power Shot SX120IS and took my photography to another level.  It has paid off too because I have covered many events, and I caught a photo of the Harvest moon in September of last year.

Fast forward to now, I reside in Texas and I would love to go stargazing because it was brought to my attention that a HUGE asteroid will be making a rare appearance, whizzing by planet Earth on Wednesday April 19th.  The only problem is I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO GO FOR THE BEST VIEW.

So what do you do if you want to go stargazing and you don’t know where to go?  “You ask a Texan?”  So, I went to the resident Google (rimshot) Mandee Montana and inquired where I can go stargazing.  She gave me a few places, but she turned it over to her FB friends and they came up with the following places:

Faulkner Park

Love’s Lookout Park

Tyler State Park

So, now that I have my locations I am all set to embark on this journey and possibly catch a glimpse of this asteroid.  If you just so happen to get a shot, make sure to share it with us on our free App or Facebook wall and we'll see who got the best photo! Wish me luck….
