Matthew McConaughey Recalls Night Out at a Longview, Texas Club

(KNUE-FM) Most people from Texas are proud of the Lone Star State, and we are fortunate to have had so many celebrities and athletes come from Texas. Even when you narrow the state down to just East Texas, there have been some huge names that got started here. One very proud Texan and a big name in Hollywood is Matthew McConaughey.

Why Matthew McConaughey Still Loves Texas

One of the best things about having big time celebrities from Texas is seeing how much they support their home state. While McConaughey is not alone, he always loves to throw up the horns to support his Texas Longhorns. He is also often giving back to Texas whenever he feels it’s necessary, which is always great to see people giving back.

That Club Night He Never Forgot

While I was on social media, I saw a clip from Matthew McConaughey on the George Lopez show from years ago. The clip was from back in 2011, but the conversation they were having was fun to watch, especially when McConaughey started discussing his roots and being so fluent in Spanish.

While on the show the topic of growing up in Texas became a topic of conversation and McConaughey opened up about going to a club in Longview with a friend, and they ended up being the only two white people in that club all night. But things almost got bad later that night in the parking lot, if you haven’t seen the clip yet, it’s time to watch.
