It's time to vote in the RTX New Music Challenge, your chance to weigh in on the new music that we spin at Radio Texas, LIVE! This week the latest single from Brandon Rhyder "Pray the Night" goes up against Wade Bowen's new one. Your job? Listen to both, then vote for your favorite.

Rhyder’s voice is unmistakable. His tenor and vibrato are something no one could emulate — like they'd even try. To go with that signature sound, are a few signature songs, that include “Backroads,” Let the Good Times Roll,” and “Freeze Frame Time.”

“[Those] are songs that put us on the map,” Rhyder acknowledges. “Backroads is a song I almost didn’t put on the ‘Conviction’ album. [But] Walt Wilkins told me ‘No it’s going to be on there.’ Lo and behold it became a fan favorite.”

Rhyder's new album "That's Just Me" is out now, and the second single off it, "Pray the Night" is challenger number one this week.

Wade Bowen's 2011 project "The Given" has been a critical and commercial success. The first single "Saturday Night" became Bowen's first career Mediabase Top 40 single. The second "To Live is to Fly," a duet with Guy Clark, was hugely popular as well. Both were No. 1 singles in Texas.

We most recently heard Bowen at the beginning of 2013 singing with Will Hoge on his No.1 smash "Another Song Nobody Will Hear." This week he released a new single, one that takes a soft, respectable, albeit poignant jab at modern country songs -- especially songs about trucks, called umm "Songs About Trucks," it's challenger number two.
