Well before you know it it'll be time to eat again!  When it comes to eating out we're on the lookout for new places to try with new tastes and experiences. It doesn't even matter if you're a creature of habit like me, from time to time we'll seek out something new and different.

Now when my wife and I go out to eat she is the more adventurous one and loves to try new places, but before we go she will read reviews and check their Yelp rating before we go. If the place isn't ranked high with great pictures of their menu offerings, she'll scroll on to another restaurant until she finds the perfect one! This happened a couple of weeks ago when we were in Dallas, she found an awesome burger joint called Rodeo Goat. This place was in a nondescript cinder block building but they had some truly great and unique burgers. A great find thanks to the Yelp reviews.

Go on a food journey across Texas.

Yelp recently released its '2023 Top 100 Places To Eat' in the U.S. list and Texas had a pretty decent showing in the top 100. Texas claimed eight of the top 100 spots! Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston and Austin were represented on the list and three of the eight restaurants from Texas are less than a two-hour drive west of Tyler along I-20  to the Dallas area. Texas' highest finisher on the list was 15th place, the number one spot went to Broken Mouth, a Hawaiian-Korean restaurant in Los Angeles.

Let's take a look at the Texas restaurants on Yelp's 100 list for 2023:

  • No. 15: Vietwich (Stafford, Texas)
Vietnamese sandwich shop and bubble tea
  • No. 16: Crumbville (Houston, Texas)
    vegan bakery and cupcakes
  • No. 47: burger-chan (Houston, Texas)
    burgers, hot dogs, American food
  • No. 99: Kiin Di (Austin, Texas)
    Thai food truck

Now if you're taste buds are up for something a little bit different that comes highly recommended, you might try these places and others in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.
