While no one likes hearing about crime in Texas, law enforcement continues working to track down dangerous fugitives. Like recently when the U.S. Marshals captured one of the top 10 most wanted Texas sex offenders.

Texas Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Mexico

The fugitive was attempting to hide in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico, but was arrested last week on East Texas-related charges.

42-year-old Kit Edward Lulow was convicted of rape, sexual abuse and sodomy of a 13-year-old girl in Oregon in 2008. Lulow was sentenced to 75 months in prison for those charges but was arrested multiple times from 2014 to 2019 for violating his parole.

In February, Lulow was arrested again in Marion County, Texas for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of child pornography. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, he bonded out of the Marion County Jail and fled to Mexico.

Charges Filed in East Texas Counties

Lulow was wanted in Cass County since February for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. In April, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Texas issued two warrants for Lulow’s arrest on charges of possession of child pornography.

That is when he was listed on the Texas DPS website for the 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list and Texas Crime Stoppers offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
