Cody Johnson is awesome. He's awesome in concert. He's awesome in interviews. He deserves the heights he is reaching with his music right now.

During his January visit to the Big D and Bubba studio, he talked his then new album, Ain't Nothin' To It, and the debut single, "On My Way To You", and how he would be opening for Luke Combs during the Summer.

He sat down with Big D and Bubba in the studio to talk about the tunes on his newest album. It's cool to hear how Cody loves the songs as much as we do. He gave all the credit to the guys who wrote the songs.

He has a version of Charlie Daniels' "Long Haired Country Boy" on the album that Cody wanted Charlie to be a part of. Charlie, unfortunately, couldn't do it but he did hear it and, as Cody says in the interview, "he didn't hate it". That would have been great. He talked about his wish to be able to meet Charlie, too.

Keep that train rolling Cody, we're on board.

Listen to Big D and Bubba Monday through Saturday mornings on 101.5 KNUE.
