If you don't know what pachinko is, it's basically Japanese slot machines. You can't win money straight from them, though. You "win" ball bearings that you then turn in for money.

There have been a few prominent Japanese video game makers, like Konami for example, that just make pachinko machines now.

Big D and Bubba spent the last part of last week in Japan with the USO and comedians Carly Aquilino and Jessimae Peluso to visit our troops at Camp Fuji, Camp Zama and Yokosuka. There, Big D and Bubba, and Patrick, too, performed their game night for the military men and women.

Big D, Bubba and Patrick decided to take a little time for themselves and play pachinko. For you Shreveport veterans, it's Japanese slot machines. You put your money in, make your bet and win ball bearings. Yes, ball bearings. Those are then turned in for money.

They seemed to have a good time. But, of course, a bit of a language barrier prevented them from really knowing what they were doing.

All in all, it was a great trip for the guys. Much respect and gratitude to Big D and Bubba for making the trip to entertain our men and women in uniform.
