Heading into Week 8, It's Been a Surprise NFL Season So Far

It has been one of the weirdest NFL seasons so far in 2019. The Buffalo Bills are 5-1. The San Francisco 49's are undefeated. The Indianapolis Colts look like some serious playoff contenders. Yeah, weird season so far.

Those aforementioned 49's play host to another interesting team Sunday, Carolina Panthers. Since Cam Newton went down, Kyle Allen has been on fire and Christian McCaffrey has lead their explosive offense. The Niners defense has been phenomenal so far and their offense added a nice weapon in Emmanuel Sanders in a trade earlier this week. I think the 49's will stay undefeated, 37-27.

Sunday night's game is a bit of a downer now. The Green Bay Packers come into Arrowhead Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs. This could have been the battle of State Farm brothers Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes but Mahomes is out with his knee injury. With that missing piece for the Chiefs, the offense will sputter a bit against the Packers defense. Packers 35, Chiefs 21.

The New Orleans Saints are a top three team in the NFL this season, even with Drew Brees out with his thumb injury. Their defense is stout and Teddy Bridgewater looks like the starting quarterback he was supposed to be coming out of college. The Arizona Cardinals come calling Sunday afternoon. Saints 48, Cardinals 17.
