Calorie Counting Wichita Falls, Texas Police Make Drug and Gun Arrest
We've all been there. We're up late for whatever reason and get a rumbly in our tummy. Luckily, Whataburger is open 24 hours and a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit would sure hit the spot. In this particular case, a Wichita Falls teen had the munchies while at the same time a couple of police officers needed to refuel for the rest of their night shift. The two parties came together leading to a drug and gun arrest.
Two officers with the Wichita County District Attorney's Office were at the Whataburger on Central Freeway in Wichita Falls early Tuesday morning, April 5. Like many restaurants, this Whataburger probably has a bit of a labor shortage and needed to close their lobby while leaving the drive thru open. One of the officers was doing their best to stick to their diet and needed a calorie count of the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. Upon arriving at the drive thru menu to get that count, the officer smelled something other than a Whataburger patty being cooked.
They found the vehicle that the herb smell was coming from and pulled that vehicle over as it left the drive thru. The officer asked the driver how much marijuana was in the vehicle. For some reason, the driver thought this officer was asking is he would puff, puff, pass. The driver handed the officer his lit joint and said "this much."
The above picture is that driver, 17-year-old Donovan Meadows. He was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and unlawful possession of a firearm totaling $2,500 in bonds. You see, Meadows was driving his sister's car. She has a license to carry but had left her Glock under the driver's seat which the officers found during a search of the vehicle.
Moral of this story, making a late night run to Whataburger is always a good thing, just don't do it if you're baked.
