This has been going on in East Texas for years, it’s one of the best traditions right around the holidays. And it’s all about keeping people and families safe here in the Lone Star State.

“The Ride is on Us” Campaign Going On Now

A law firm in East Texas has decided to once again sponsor free rides to anyone in East Texas in an effort to stop drinking and driving.

They have teamed up with Tyler Car Service, Yellow Checker Cab of Longview, and GoBus to offer the no cost transportation.

When is the Service Being Offered

The free rides are going on right now. This service is available to anyone in 14 East Texas Counties from Friday, December 13, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

What East Texas Counties Are Offered the Free Rides?

If you live in any of these counties then you are eligible for the free rides: Anderson, Camp, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Marion, Panola, Rains, Rusk, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood.

To request a ride just call 903-333-RIDE (7433).

Having lost a family member in a drinking and driving accident I think this is such a great tradition that continues each year. There are dozens of people that lose their life here in East Texas because of drivers who consume alcohol before getting behind the wheel.

There are so many ways to get a ride home, whether it’s ride sharing apps, asking a friend, or posting on social media about needing a ride. There is no excuse for drinking and driving in Texas.

Especially right now as free rides are being offered. Be smart, set up a sober driver before you leave your house.
